HOW GREEN IS WIND ENERGY? It may be renewable, but it is anything but green, and the citizens of rural Ontario are sounding the alarm bells. In spite of this, the Ontario Government is NOT LISTENING. As a result, citizens are being forced to take their government to court to keep them from harming people, animals and the environment. This has been and continues to be very costly for the citizens of rural Ontario. HOW GREEN IS THIS (HGIT) consists of volunteers who help communities in Ontario fundraise to pay the legal fees for their lawsuits. Our mandate is also to help educate the public concerning the question: “What’s Wrong with Industrial Wind Turbines?” We invite you to read through our website to learn why IWTs do not belong in Ontario. Please join us. By donating today you can help keep rural Ontario GREEN. HOW DID WE GET HERE? In 2009, the Ontario Liberal Government repealed the Energy Conservation Leadership Act & the Energy Efficiency Act. They replaced it with the Green Energy Act (GEA). • The GEA’s mandate to expand renewable energy has been called a “sham”, an “economic debacle” and a “staggering explosion of misguided investment”. • The GEA stripped all decision-making powers from municipal governments with respect to wind energy. • The GEA forced rural municipalities to install IWTs despite the government’s promise that “non-willing host” communities would be exempt. • Other countries around the world are scaling back their wind programs. However, in Ontario, IWTs are being erected at a record pace without health studies or regard for their negative effects on human and animal health, the environment, and hydro rates.

Ontario’s Water Wars: Wind Turbine Construction Turns Underground Water to Toxic Sludge

STOP THESE THINGS

Ontario’s farmers keep complaining about the toxic sludge coming out of their wells, while the wind power outfits that have obviously caused the damage, keep lying about it.

Pile-driving and the excavations required for 400m³ of steel reinforced concrete for the hundreds of turbine bases across Chatham-Kent are the only new and intervening factor capable of turning (hitherto potable) underground water a silty black.

Locals know it, and are keen to seek redress from the powers that be:

Chatham-Kent residents take water wells fight to Queen’s Park

A group of Chatham-Kent residents took their fight for better water to Queen’s Park.

Members of the Water Wells First group held a news conference in Toronto on Thursday, hoping to get more attention to an issue that has been discussed locally for more than a year.

The group is upset with the North-Kent wind farm…

Germany’s Renewable Energy Disaster – Part 4: ‘Social Disaster’: Wind Turbines Wrecking Rural Communities

STOP THESE THINGS

Germany’s wind and solar experiment has failed: the so-called ‘Energiewende’ (energy transition) has turned into an insanely costly debacle.

German power prices have rocketedblackouts and load shedding are the norm; and idyllic rural communities are now industrial wastelands (see above).

Hundreds of billions of euros have been squandered on subsidies to wind and solar, all in an effort to reduce carbon dioxide gas emissions. However, that objective has failed too: CO2 emissions continue to rise.

But you wouldn’t know it from what appears in the mainstream media. Its reticence to report on what’s actually going on in Germany probably stems from the adage about success having many fathers, and failure being an orphan. Having promoted Germany as the example of how we could all ‘transition’ to an all RE future, it’s pretty hard for them to suck it up and acknowledge that they were taken for fools.

Prince Edward County Residents Standing Up for their Rights! Huge rally to protest wpd wind project and the Green Energy Act

CCSAGE Naturally Green

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PICTON, ON., October 7: Prince Edward County residents will rally together to voice their opposition to wpd Canada’s White Pines Wind Project that involves erecting nine 150m-tall (500 FT.) industrial wind turbines in and around the hamlet of Milford in the ward of South Marysburgh.

The County is an unwilling host to industrial wind turbine projects that disrupt the lives and livelihoods of County residents; that destroy the County’s historic landscapes; and that cause irreparable harm to the County’s wildlife and natural environment.

This much anticipated rally will consist of a march coupled with an information session at the Regent Theatre in Picton. “Our hope is that this rally will motivate the government to cancel this project once and for all”, says Les Stanfield, logistics coordinator for the rally. “We want people to be creative in preparing for the march through floats, banners and placards that…

Wind power developer documents found lacking: engineers’ report

Ottawa Wind Concerns

Power developer project documents are missing key details, engineering firm tells Municipality of North Stormont

Concerned Citizens of North Stormont leader Margaret Benke, in Finch, Ontario: MOECC has poor track record in meeting its responsibilities

August 9, 2017

Last week, Portugal-based EDP Renewables filed documents with the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) as part of the Renewable Energy Approval (REA) process, to get final approval for its “Nation Rise” wind power project in North Stormont, just south of Ottawa.

Using every tool they have to act responsibly on behalf of citizens, North Stormont had engaged Ottawa engineering firm Morrison Hershfield to conduct a review of the documents presented earlier.

The firm found that key information was missing from the project documents in critical areas such as the impact of the project on groundwater, and on bird and bat populations, to name two. An excerpt from…

Cornwall MOECC office unresponsive on wind turbine noise reports

Ottawa Wind Concerns

North Stormont residents concerned that no one will look out for them if new 100-megawatt power project is approved

(Re-posted from Wind Concerns Ontario)

This past spring, Wind Concerns Ontario conducted an analysis of Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) response to reports of excessive noise and vibration(MOECC) and concluded the process for responding to citizen complaints is deeply flawed and largely ineffective. Global News ran a two-part investigative report on this information, which featured Ontario families who have been complaining about turbine noise for years, with no resolution.

More documents recently released under Freedom of Information (FOI) and correspondence with Ministry staff reveal problems with the Cornwall office that are further examples of a poor strategy for response. The documents and email also are a clear indication that the MOECC has completely abdicated its role as a regulator, and leaves resolution of any problems up to corporate wind power…

CCSAGE Lawyer Alan Whiteley addresses the Standing Committee on Justice Policy regarding Bill 132

CCSAGE Naturally Green

The following is the text of the address made by Alan Whiteley before the Standing Committee on Justice Policy regarding Bill 132, today, Tuesday, May 23, 2017

RESIDENTS OF ONTARIO CANNOT AFFORD ELECTRICITY AT CURRENT RATES. SOME FAMILIES HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN ELECTRICITY AND FOOD.

INDUSTRIES FACED WITH EXORBITANT CHARGES ARE RELOCATING TO U.S. JURISDICTIONS THAT OFFER MUCH LOWER RATES, TAKING JOBS WITH THEM.

AN URGENT REMEDY IS REQUIRED.
BILL 132 IS NO REMEDY; IT IS A PONZI SCHEME.

SOME CONSUMERS WILL HAVE A PORTION OF THEIR ELECTRICITY RATES DEFERRED FOR A PERIOD OF TIME;

THE DEFERRED RATES WILL BE ACCUMULATED AS AN “INVESTMENT ASSET” WHICH WILL BE SOLD TO OUTSIDE INVESTORS;

OUTSIDE INVESTORS WILL HAVE THE RIGHT TO COLLECT THE DEFERRED RATES PROTECTED FOR INFLATION, PLUS ACCRUED INTEREST, FROM RATES TO BE CHARGED TO FUTURE CONSUMERS.

BILL 132 DOES NOT ADDRESS THE ROOT CAUSE OF UNAFFORDABLE ELECTRICITY RATES.

ONTARIO CONSUMERS…

End of public transit tax credit, effective July 1

Wind Turbine Locations, Maps, Lawsuits, Setbacks

June 30th is the last day for a policy that was actually effective in reducing carbon emissions:

The federal government’s decision to eliminate the public transit tax credit (PTTC) in its latest budget will cost the Toronto Transit Commission millions of rides, and dollars, the agency’s CEO says…

… Byford estimates that the end of the credit will result in 2.5 million fewer rides and a loss of $5 million in [the 2nd half of] 2017 [emphasis added]
